What a busy couple of weeks it has been here - the new additions to the site - the flowers and bling - have been flying out the door. I am expecting deliveries of complete top-ups of both the flowers and the bling shortly.
But the focus for the girls for this month has been the fantastic RIBBONSTIFF!!! Each of the four Lovely girls were given a bottle of ribbonstiff, some Strano Designs 1 1/2 " striped grosgrain ribbons and told "Go forth and create!". And so they did....... Just check out these gorgeous creations.
Both Toni and Shazz were given the same ribbons, which included
- Strano Designs Olivia striped grosgrain (the purple, green and navy)
- Lilac with Violet Double Stitched Grosgrain
- 2mm Purple Satin
- 2mm Navy Satin
- Strano Designs Nic (pink and green)
Grandma and Me - by Shazz Pratten. Shazz has cut the 1 1/2" wide Nic striped grosgrain into thin stripes and shaped them to form these gorgeous flowers.
Little Girls by Shazz Pratten - Check out those funky stars punched from the Olivia striped grosgrain. Ribbonstiff has completely revolutionised the use of ribbon I think.

That Smile by Shazz Pratten - who would have thought you could ever punch ribbon like this without it fraying to bits??
Bookmark by Toni Crane. Toni has made this really quick and simple book mark by treating the ribbon with RibbonStiff, then printing on it (remember ink won't run with ribbonstiff) and attaching an eyelet and mini ric rac - how easy is that!!
Card by Toni Crane. Check out those delicate swirl punchies from the Strano Designs Nic ribbon. And I love the way she has put the petals together to form the flower.

Dockers by Toni Crane. The scalloped edge of the ribbon is a great way to personalise a ribbon and how easy and effective is that title?

Cherish by Deirdre Heath. Look how gorgeous that large flower is with the Strano Designs Zoe Striped grosgrain gathered in the middle, surrounded by the fuschia 8mm satin in a gorgeous spiral curl.

"I had a great time with the Ribbon Stiff on this LO. To get the “curls” attached to the flower, I applied Ribbon Stiff and then wrapped the ribbon around a round pencil and allowed to dry. NB: loss of some integrity in the curl occurs when unwrapping so use a pencil/dowell with a slightly smaller diameter than you wish the curl to end up. I also Used Ribbon Stiff to create the “crumpled” effect on the Strano Zoe. I applied Ribbon Stiff to the entire legth of the ribbon, then attached eah end to the desired place on the CS. NB: Try not to let the midsection of the wet ribbon touch the CS until you are happy with the placement (you may damage the CS). I then “squished and crumbled” the ribbon into place. I have placed a large floral detail where the direction of the “crumple” changes in the corner, as it hides the mess!" Pippa
Peek a boo - by Pippa Waddell.
"I have redefined the way that I do ribbon ties. I cut (at and angle) the lengths of ribbon that I needed then used a sparing amount of Ribbon Stiff on the ends. When dry I was able to thread the ribbon through the slots without fraying! Then I placed a small daub of Ribbon Stiff under the knot as an adhesive. Fantastic for keeping in place wider ribbons that don’t lend themselves to double knots". Pippa.

Due to problems with my email inbox, I don't have the detailed list of information sent to me by the other three girls. Sorry Toni, Dee and Shazz!!! I must say I do truly appreciate all the effort and creative juices the girls have poured into their work for Really Just Ribbons. We are very lucky to have such a talented group of ladies.
